The dominant blues give the piece its emotional atmosphere. From bright turquoise to rich indigo and near-black navy, Dennison uses blue not simply as a background colour, but as a living environment. It wraps around the central forms like a current, giving the painting a sense of depth, calm and mystery. The darker sweeping bands at the edges act almost like a frame or protective boundary, while the lighter blues open the composition and allow it to breathe.

About the Artists
Robert (Bob) Dennison is a professional artist and a long-standing educator who serves as the Head of Art at Dauntsey’s School, a co-educational independent boarding and day school in Wiltshire.
Professional Training: Bob trained and developed his style at the prestigious Bath Academy of Art. His teachers is essentially a staggering list of the mid-20th-century British modernist movement, a period when British painters and sculptors were redefining abstraction, landscape, and form after the Second World War.
